Care of equipment

How do you maintain your equipment from Collarfull?

I will get into that more here.

Leather

The leather loves you if you love it.

Leather is a natural material which, in Collarfull's case, originates from: cows. 4 mm thick, "full grain" quality leather is used in several widths.

Leather can last for many years if you take good care of it. Therefore, make sure to clean it as you can read below and avoid as far as possible that the leather gets soaked and that you use the wrong care tools.

Cleaning

  • The leather must be completely dry before you start cleaning it.
  • Start by brushing / wiping off dirt etc. with a soft brush or cloth.
  • If the equipment is super dirty and it does not get properly clean via the above method, you can wash away the dirt with a damp sponge and possibly a little saddle soap.
  • Add leather grease if necessary.

Tips

  • Use leather grease intended for leather equipment, with natural ingredients.
  • If leather equipment is to be stored, use a breathable dust bag, such as cotton.

Avoid

  • Leather must NOT be put in the washing machine, clean as above.
  • Avoid leaving your leather products outside at night.
  • Use only grease and soap intended for leather products and avoid shoe care products.
  • Avoid soaking the leather as much as possible.
  • Avoid using a lot of water when you clean it, both for the sake of the environment and for the sake of the leather.

Biothane

Cleaning

  • BioThane requires no maintenance as such. But should it still get dirty, it can be cleaned with a damp cloth or via a soft brush and water.
  • Dry afterwards with a towel.

Tips

  • To remove smelly dirt, it can be dipped in tap water mixed with white vinegar.
  • Be sure to wash thoroughly after cleaning with this method and dry with a dry cloth or towel.

Avoid

  • Avoid contact with chemicals and non-natural insect preparations.
  • Avoid contact with fire.

Fabric necklace

Cleaning

  • The fabric collars can be washed at 30 C in the washing machine. (Except for the CANDY CANE collar - this must be washed gently by hand due to the stripes)
  • Use an old pillowcase or laundry bag to care for the machine, collar and buckles.
  • Spot wash after the collar by hand, with dog shampoo.

Tips

  • Regular machine washing wears out the collar, just like our own clothes. Therefore, wash only when necessary.
  • Be sure to dry buckles after washing.
  • If the metal buckle has been in contact with sand, make sure to wash well under the tap and get all the sand out - or it can cause the buckle's click lock mechanism to fail.

Avoid

  • Contact with fire
  • Too much washing
  • Salt water
